New Whisky Releases: Glenfarclas Unveils 70 Year Old Single Malt & Teeling Marks 10 Years with Birthday Batch. 

  • Family-owned Glenfarclas Distillery released its oldest whisky to date – Glenfarclas 70 Year Old single malt. Distilled in 1953 and matured in a single first-fill Sherry cask, it was aged in the distillery’s dunnage warehouses and has been overseen by six distillery managers over the past 70 years.   • Teeling launched a limited-edition Birthday Batch whiskey to mark its 10th birthday. The blend combines some of the distillery’s oldest single malt and pot still whiskeys, all distilled in Dublin and matured in ex-Bourbon casks. Read More

Bladnoch Reveals The Wave II, Laphroaig Releases 38 Year Old, and Arran Introduces Duero Discovery. 

  • Bladnoch, Scotland’s southernmost and oldest privately-owned distillery, unveiled The Wave II, the second release in its five-part Wave Master Distiller’s Collection. The limited edition was launched during the distillery’s Wave Day festival, celebrating Bladnoch’s Galloway roots and heritage dating back to 1817. Read More 

 

  • Islay’s Laphroaig Distillery announced a rare 38 year old single malt – the second edition in its Archive Collection. Aged in American ex-bourbon barrels, it was finished in second-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads and rested in European oak seasoned with Oloroso sherry. Read More 

 

  • The Isle of Arran introduced Duero Discovery, the third release in its four-part Signature Series. This 12 year old unpeated whisky was aged for six years in first and second-fill bourbon casks, followed by six years in red wine casks from Spain’s Duero Valley. Read More

New Limited-Edition Whiskies: Isle of Raasay supports The Maclean Foundation, English Distillery Celebrates 18 Years, and Old Perth Unveils Amontillado Release

  • To mark Father’s Day, the Isle of Raasay Distillery has released a limited-edition five year old single malt for The Maclean Foundation supporting its mission to provide clean water for people in Madagascar. Matured in virgin Chinkapin oak, it’s the third release in the series founded by whisky writer Charles Maclean MBE, along with his three sons who are rowing 9,000 miles across the Pacific to raise £1 million for the cause.   • To celebrate its 18th anniversary, The English Distillery introduced The English Chapter 18,  marking the return of its Chapter Series.  The limited edition single malt is crafted from a blend of whiskies aged 10, 12, 15, and 18 years old in a selection of Bourbon, Sherry and virgin oak casks. Read More 

 

  • Old Perth Whisky has unveiled its latest limited edition, Old Perth Amontillado, finished for nearly three years in first-fill Amontillado sherry casks which is a lighter style of sherry. Blended from Speyside single malts initially aged in American and European oak sherry casks, with some also drawn from Old Perth’s solera system.  Read More

New Whisky Releases: Tormore's Blueprint Series, Glen Moray’s Smoky Twelve, and Redbreast 15 Cask Strength Unveiled

  • Speyside distillery Tormore debuted its new limited-edition whisky range, the Blueprint Series. It features three distinctive 10 Year Old expressions, each matured in a different cask type; bourbon, cream sherry, and toasted oak. Read More 

 

  • Another Speyside distillery, Glen Moray, launched its Smoky 12 Years Old, a new permanent addition to its single malt range. Made with peated barley, the Smoky Twelve balances Glen Moray’s signature smooth, fruity character with notes of bonfire smoke and is matured in both American and European oak casks. Read More 

 

  • Redbreast Irish Whiskey has unveiled a 15 Year Old Cask Strength edition, a limited small-batch release celebrating 20 years since the debut of Redbreast 15 Year This special expression is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks. Read More 

New Limited Whisky Releases: Scallywag Noir Sherry Cask & Tácnbora Cognac Cask Finish

  • Glasgow-based Douglas Laing & Co. revealed Scallywag Noir, the latest limited-edition release in its Scallywag Speyside blended malt whisky range. It’s primarily matured in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks from Jerez in Andalusia to give notes of velvety sweetness, dark fruits, and warming spices. Read More

 

  • Ad Gefrin, the Anglo-Saxon museum and distillery in Northumberland, has released a limited Cognac Cask edition of its signature blended whisky, Tácnbora. Named after the Old English word for ‘standard bearer,’  Tácnbora Cognac Cask Finish combines Scottish and Irish whiskies, with this release finished for six months in ex-Cognac casks. Read More

Latest Whisky Releases: Glen Grant Unveils 70-Year-Old Mr George Whisky & Tamdhu Releases 21-Year-Old Sherry Cask Masterpiece.

  • A 70 Year Old Glen Grant whisky was announced as the fifth and final single malt in its Mr George Legacy Series. Distilled in 1954 and aged in a first-fill Sherry puncheon for seven decades, only 130 bottles are available worldwide. Read More

 

  • Tamdhu Distillery unveiled a 21 Year Old single malt as the latest, and oldest, addition to its core collection. It has been aged in Sherry casks, predominantly European oak, crafted in the family cooperages and Bodegas of Jerez. Read More 

New Whisky Arrivals: London Distillery’s Renascence Revival & Ardnamurchan’s Global Launch of The Midgie

  • The London Distillery Company revealed Renascence – The Revival Release, its first whisky since relaunching earlier this year. Crafted from the remaining casks of its original 2011–2020 era, this London single malt features Plumage Archer, a historic barley widely used in early 20th century whisky making.  Read More

 

  • After its sell-out UK debut in 2024, Ardnamurchan Distillery has launched the global release of The Midgie, its summer dram. This edition blends peated and unpeated spirits from 2017–2019, matured in Bourbon barrels and Port casks. Read More

Scottish Distilleries Unveil Bold New Releases: Lochlea’s Sherried Peat & Torabhaig’s Sound of Sleat. 

  • Farm-to-cask Lochlea Distillery in Ayrshire launched its first sherry and peat combination with Cask Strength Batch 3, the latest in its annual series of limited-edition cask strength bottlings. It’s also a significant milestone for their new Master Blender Jill Boyd who led the selection and blending of this new release from start to finish. Read More  

 

  • Torabhaig Distillery on the Isle of Skye released Sound of Sleat, the fourth limited-edition single malt in its Legacy Series. Named after the distillery’s home on the Sleat Peninsula, it has been aged in ex-Bourbon and new American oak casks. Read More 

Latest Islay Whisky Releases: Smokehead’s Bold 15 Year Old Debut & Duncan Taylor’s Rare 42 Year Old Bowmore. 

  • Islay whisky brand Smokehead announced its oldest release yet – a 15 year old single malt featuring bold notes of peat smoke, vanilla ice cream, sweet citrus, lemon zest, and a hint of brine. Read More

 

  • Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky unveiled a 42 year old Bowmore, one of its oldest bottlings to date, as part of its prestigious Rarest Reserve collection. Distilled in 1982 at the Bowmore Distillery on Islay, this limited-edition single malt was matured in a single Pedro Ximénez Sherry cask. Read More

Exclusive Festival Releases from Islay: Bruichladdich and Kilchoman Launch Rare Bottlings Ahead of Fèis Ìle 2025

  • Bruichladdich Distillery in Islay announced the release of two exclusive limited edition bottlings in celebration of the upcoming Fèis Ìle festival (23–31 May). They feature a rare, one of a kind Port Charlotte Single Cask expression and the heavily peated 15 year old Octomore Polyphonic. Read More 

 

  • Also on Islay, Kilchoman is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the launch of four small batch single malts. These ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks showcase the range of Kilchoman’s signature character from bright citrus and salty peat smoke to rich dried fruits and warming spices. Read More 

New Releases Unveiled: McConnell’s Cognac Cask & Glasgow Distillery’s Small Batch Series. 

  • Belfast based McConnell’s has unveiled a Cognac Cask Finish, the final release in its 5 Year Old Series. A blend of Irish malt and grain whiskeys, it was initially aged in first-fill Bourbon casks before being finished in Cognac casks. Read More  

 

  • Glasgow Distillery revealed three limited-edition single malts – one peated and two unpeated 5 year olds – finished in rare wine casks as part of its acclaimed Small Batch Series. Read More

New Whisky Releases: Glen Scotia Unveils 50-Year-Old ‘Air’ in Elements of Campbeltown Series; Fife’s InchDairnie Distillery Launches First-Ever KinGlassie Single Malts. 

  • Glen Scotia unveiled its oldest whisky to date in a beautiful bespoke Glencairn Crystal decanter; Glen Scotia 50 Year Old Elements of Campbeltown – Release Number One: Air. The first release in its new Elements of Campbeltown collection, it draws inspiration from the Celtic five-fold knot, and each edition will explore the impact of a natural element – air, water, fire, and earth – on the distillery’s oldest maturing whiskies.   • Fife’s InchDairnie Distillery debuted its first-ever single malts with the launch of two eight year old peated whiskies under its new KinGlassie range.  KinGlassie Double Matured is a heavily peated eight year old single malt whisky and KinGlassie Raw is aged for eight years in American oak ex-Bourbon casks. Whisky Releases: The Dalmore Luminary No.3 – The Rare and Laphroaig Elements 3.0.

  • The Dalmore announced Luminary No.3 – The Rare, (aged 52 years) the third masterpiece in the Luminary Series. Created in collaboration with architect Ben Dobbin of Foster + Partners, this exceptionally limited release, just one of two, features a decanter expertly crafted by Glencairn Crystal, paired with a bespoke sculpture to form an extraordinary expression of design.   • Laphroaig in Islay released Elements 3.0, the third in its Elements Series. This limited release was inspired by an unexpected event at the distillery when a fire in a kiln burned peat for longer and at higher temperatures, and experimenting with heat resulted in a whisky with notes of chocolate and coffee. Whisky Releases: Glen Grant 30 Year Old, Cotswolds Hearts and Crafts Calvados, and Old Particular Wine Cask Editions.

  • The Glen Grant has revealed its oldest permanent expression – a 30 year old single malt that completes the distillery’s Glasshouse Collection. All three whiskies in the collection are aged in American oak Bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry casks. Read More

 

  • English distillery, Cotswolds, launched the sixth edition of its Hearts and Crafts series; Hearts and Crafts Calvados Single Malt Whisky. This limited release is aged exclusively in French Calvados apple brandy casks. The collection celebrates the Arts & Crafts movement which flourished in the Cotswolds in the late 19th century.   • Douglas Laing & Co. expanded its acclaimed Old Particular Wine Cask Collection with two new Single Cask releases; Old Particular Jura 13 Year Old and Old Particular Fettercairn 14 Year Old. Each whisky is uniquely finished in hand-selected wine casks. Read More

Spring Whisky Highlights: Littlemill’s Rare 34-Year-Old Debut, Boutique-y’s New World Whiskies, and The Macallan’s Art-Inspired Releases

  • Littlemill launched Echoes of the Past Release Number One, a rare 34 year old single malt from Scotland’s oldest licensed distillery. Presented in a beautiful Glencairn Crystal decanter, it’s the first in a four-part annual series.  Drawn from a single, precious Oloroso sherry cask, each annual release will be limited to just 50 bottles.   • That Boutique-y Whisky Company expanded its core range to include three new world whiskies: an 8 year old English rye, a 10 year old Kentucky Bourbon, and a 21 year old Irish whiskey. The new whiskies join a Canadian corn and four Scotch whiskies in the core range that was launched last year. Read More

 

  • The Macallan unveiled two limited-edition single malts inspired by Scottish artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his 1902 stained-glass panel The Spirit of the Rose. Part of The Tree of Life Collection, the 46-year-old The Tree of Life blends two sherry-seasoned oak casks from 1979, while The Art of the Flower showcases natural flavours from Sherry-seasoned European oak casks. Whisky Releases: Nc’nean’s Citrus Huntress, Glen Moray’s Maple Debuts, and GlenAllachie’s Sinteis Series

  • Nc’nean released Lemon Meadow, the fourth edition of its Huntress Series. This organic single malt is fermented with French sparkling wine yeast which is rarely used in Scotch whisky, to give buttery, citrusy, and biscuity notes. Read More 

 

  • Glen Moray have debuted Peated Maple Cask and Unpeated Maple Cask at the Spirit of Speyside Festival, marking a first for the Elgin distillery. Finished in Canadian maple syrup casks, the new expressions blend natural sweetness with Glen Moray’s classic Speyside style. Read More 

 

  • GlenAllachie has launched Sinteis, a new limited-edition series debuting with a 2014 single malt matured in first-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry puncheons and Chinquapin virgin oak, a native American variety from the Ozark region of Missouri. Read More

  • Ardbeg unveiled its new limited-edition Ardbeg Smokiverse to mark this year’s Ardbeg Day on 31st  May It’s the Islay Distillery’s first whisky crafted from a high-gravity mash, resulting in a vibrant, tropical and fruity spirit.  Read More 

 

  • The Scotch Malt Whisky Society launched the third release in its Creators Collection. Whispers of Spring is four rare aged whiskies featuring fresh floral aromas, juicy fruits and green shoots. They are aged from 27 to 35 Years and distilled at Bladnoch, Fettercairn, Miltonduff and Tormore distilleries. Read More 

 

  • Timorous Beastie Highland Blended Malt introduced the third and final instalment in its Cheese Cellar Collection with its Moscatel Finish Limited Edition.  It has been matured in White and Purple Moscatel casks and goat’s cheese is recommended as the perfect pairing to complement the whisky’s sweet, fruity, and floral notes. Talisker and The English Distillery Unveil Limited-Edition Whiskies Supporting Ocean and Veteran Charities

  • Talisker revealed The Wild Blue – a sweetly smoky limited-edition single malt whisky finished in Atlantic coastal red wine casks for sixteen months. For every bottle sold, £3 will be donated to Blue Marine Foundation and will go towards projects helping to restore vital coastal habitats. Read More

 

  • To celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE-Day, The English Distillery has partnered with the charity, Walking with the Wounded, to launch a single malt whisky that has been aged in a marriage of ex-bourbon casks and virgin oak casks. £2 from every bottle will be donated to the charity which helps UK ex-servicemen and women receive help to recover their wellbeing. New Whisky Releases: Loch Lomond’s Open 2025 Editions, Glasgow 1770’s 10 Year Old Single Cask, and Midleton Very Rare 2024 Vintage

  • Loch Lomond Whiskies announced two new expressions to celebrate The Open 2025. The Open Special Edition explores the influence of rich and ripe Tuscan Chianti wine casks on the Loch Lomond signature style, whilst this year’s Open Course Collection features a 22 Year Old Single Malt, finished with first-fill Spanish Oak Casks.   • Glasgow 1770 revealed a limited-edition 10 Year Old Single Cask which is the oldest ever expression released so far from Glasgow Distillery. Cask 15/10 was the tenth cask filled in 2015 and is a refill bourbon barrel, filled with the distillery’s fruity, unpeated double distilled spirit. Read More

 

  • Midleton Very Rare launched its annual vintage to commemorate the distillery’s bicentenary. Midleton Very Rare 2024 Vintage Release Irish Whiskey is crafted from a blend of the finest single pot still and grain whiskeys, aged between 12 and 33 years. Read More
