Whisky Milestones: The English Turns 18, Big Ben Honoured by Murray McDavid and the House of Commons, SLANJ Makes Its Debut.
To celebrate its 18th anniversary, England’s oldest licensed whisky distillery, The English, has released 60 decanters of its inaugural cask, 001. The oldest English whisky ever bottled, it was first matured in a first-fill ex-Bourbon cask, finished for 12 months in a sherry hogshead, then returned to its original cask. Read More
To mark 166 years since Big Ben’s iconic chimes first echoed across Westminster, Murray McDavid and the House of Commons joined forces to unveil The Elizabeth Tower. This rare 35 year old single grain Scotch whisky was created to honour the restoration of the Elizabeth Tower – the home of Big Ben. Read More
SLANJ, a new blended malt Scotch whisky, was launched by Brian and Craig Halley, founders of SLANJ Kilts, along with Stuart Montgomerie. The blend is made from 70% Speyside single malt matured in sherry casks and 30% Highland single malt matured in bourbon casks. Actor Rory McCann, known for his role as The Hound in Game of Thrones, is one of the brand’s investors. Read more

Whisky News Round-Up: Falkland Whisky Debuts First Single Malt, Ardnamurchan Backs Maclean Brothers’ Pacific Row, Glen Scotia Honours King Charles III
Fife-based Falkland Whisky launched its first single malt: The Falkland Collection Speyside Single Malt. Distilled in Speyside and matured in oloroso Sherry casks from Spain, it’s inspired by the historic royal burgh of Falkland where Scotland’s first recorded whisky distillation took place in 1494. As the Maclean brothers row across the Pacific, Ardnamurchan Distillery announced it will donate £5 from every UK sale of Maclean’s Nose until 14 August to the Maclean Foundation, funding clean water projects in Madagascar. Inspired by their father, whisky legend Charlie Maclean, this blended Scotch whisky offers notes of citrus, sea salt, and bonfire. Read More
Glen Scotia Distillery presented King Charles III with a bespoke bottle of its 25-Year-Old single malt whisky during his recent visit to Campbeltown. Matured in American oak casks and finished in first-fill bourbon barrels, the whisky showcases Glen Scotia’s signature coastal character. Read more

New Whisky Releases: Glenmorangie Joins Formula One and Glenfiddich Celebrates Aston Martin Formula One, plus The Heart Cut Teams Up with Lochlea.
Glenmorangie’s new role as the official whisky of Formula 1 was announced by Hollywood icon Harrison Ford. The partnership kicks off at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend where fans can enjoy cocktails and the exclusive Eagle Speedster Jaguar E-Type driven by Ford in Glenmorangie’s latest advertising campaign. Glenfiddich unveiled an ultra-rare Scotch whisky to celebrate its landmark partnership with Aston Martin Formula One. Available exclusively at Harrods, Glenfiddich 1959 honours the year Aston Martin debuted in F1. Read More
The Heart Cut revealed its latest release in collaboration with single-estate distillery Lochlea. Handpicked by Lochlea Master Blender Jill Boyd, this unpeated single malt was matured in an ex-Islay whisky cask to give it subtle, smoky notes drawn entirely from the cask. Read More
Gleann Mòr Marks 10 Years with Rare Summer Scotch Collection, Dunville’s Unveils 23-Year-Old PX Finish.
Gleann Mòr Spirits celebrated its 10th anniversary with the launch of its 2025 Summer Collection Rare Find scotch whiskies showcasing experimental cask-matured single malts from Craigellachie, Annandale, Glenglassaugh, Pulteney, and Braeval. Read More
Dunville’s Irish Whiskey has added its most mature expression yet to its Exceptional Sherry Cask Finishes range: Dunville’s PX 23 Year Old Single Malt. Aged 23 years and finished for nearly six in Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads, it is the oldest release in the brand’s core lineup. Read More

Millstones in Whisky: Ardgowan Opens, Hearach Croft Strength Launches, and TLDC Debuts English Blend.
Ardgowan Distillery filled its first cask and officially opened to the public, marking Inverclyde’s first new distillery in over a century. Now in production, the independent Scotch whisky maker aims to craft top-quality whisky with a focus on carbon neutrality. Read More
Isle of Harris Distillery unveiled The Hearach Croft Strength, a bolder 52% ABV version of its signature single malt. Crafted from Scottish barley and aged in ex-Bourbon barrels and oloroso and fino Sherry butts, it debuts next week at Scottish airports, with more UK airports to follow. Read More

New Whisky Releases: Glenfarclas Unveils 70 Year Old Single Malt & Teeling Marks 10 Years with Birthday Batch.
- Family-owned Glenfarclas Distillery released its oldest whisky to date – Glenfarclas 70 Year Old single malt. Distilled in 1953 and matured in a single first-fill Sherry cask, it was aged in the distillery’s dunnage warehouses and has been overseen by six distillery managers over the past 70 years. Read More
- Teeling launched a limited-edition Birthday Batch whiskey to mark its 10th birthday. The blend combines some of the distillery’s oldest single malt and pot still whiskeys, all distilled in Dublin and matured in ex-Bourbon casks. Read More
Bladnoch Reveals The Wave II, Laphroaig Releases 38 Year Old, and Arran Introduces Duero Discovery.
- Bladnoch, Scotland’s southernmost and oldest privately-owned distillery, unveiled The Wave II, the second release in its five-part Wave Master Distiller’s Collection. The limited edition was launched during the distillery’s Wave Day festival, celebrating Bladnoch’s Galloway roots and heritage dating back to 1817. Read More
- Islay’s Laphroaig Distillery announced a rare 38 year old single malt – the second edition in its Archive Collection. Aged in American ex-bourbon barrels, it was finished in second-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads and rested in European oak seasoned with Oloroso sherry. Read More
- The Isle of Arran introduced Duero Discovery, the third release in its four-part Signature Series. This 12 year old unpeated whisky was aged for six years in first and second-fill bourbon casks, followed by six years in red wine casks from Spain’s Duero Valley. Read More

New Limited-Edition Whiskies: Isle of Raasay supports The Maclean Foundation, English Distillery Celebrates 18 Years, and Old Perth Unveils Amontillado Release
- To mark Father’s Day, the Isle of Raasay Distillery has released a limited-edition five year old single malt for The Maclean Foundation supporting its mission to provide clean water for people in Madagascar. Matured in virgin Chinkapin oak, it’s the third release in the series founded by whisky writer Charles Maclean MBE, along with his three sons who are rowing 9,000 miles across the Pacific to raise £1 million for the cause. - To celebrate its 18th anniversary, The English Distillery introduced The English Chapter 18, marking the return of its Chapter Series. The limited edition single malt is crafted from a blend of whiskies aged 10, 12, 15, and 18 years old in a selection of Bourbon, Sherry and virgin oak casks. Read More
- Old Perth Whisky has unveiled its latest limited edition, Old Perth Amontillado, finished for nearly three years in first-fill Amontillado sherry casks which is a lighter style of sherry. Blended from Speyside single malts initially aged in American and European oak sherry casks, with some also drawn from Old Perth’s solera system. Read More

New Whisky Releases: Tormore's Blueprint Series, Glen Moray’s Smoky Twelve, and Redbreast 15 Cask Strength Unveiled
- Speyside distillery Tormore debuted its new limited-edition whisky range, the Blueprint Series. It features three distinctive 10 Year Old expressions, each matured in a different cask type; bourbon, cream sherry, and toasted oak. Read More
- Another Speyside distillery, Glen Moray, launched its Smoky 12 Years Old, a new permanent addition to its single malt range. Made with peated barley, the Smoky Twelve balances Glen Moray’s signature smooth, fruity character with notes of bonfire smoke and is matured in both American and European oak casks. Read More
- Redbreast Irish Whiskey has unveiled a 15 Year Old Cask Strength edition, a limited small-batch release celebrating 20 years since the debut of Redbreast 15 Year This special expression is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks. Read More
New Limited Whisky Releases: Scallywag Noir Sherry Cask & Tácnbora Cognac Cask Finish
- Glasgow-based Douglas Laing & Co. revealed Scallywag Noir, the latest limited-edition release in its Scallywag Speyside blended malt whisky range. It’s primarily matured in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks from Jerez in Andalusia to give notes of velvety sweetness, dark fruits, and warming spices. Read More
- Ad Gefrin, the Anglo-Saxon museum and distillery in Northumberland, has released a limited Cognac Cask edition of its signature blended whisky, Tácnbora. Named after the Old English word for ‘standard bearer,’ Tácnbora Cognac Cask Finish combines Scottish and Irish whiskies, with this release finished for six months in ex-Cognac casks. Read More

Latest Whisky Releases: Glen Grant Unveils 70-Year-Old Mr George Whisky & Tamdhu Releases 21-Year-Old Sherry Cask Masterpiece.
- A 70 Year Old Glen Grant whisky was announced as the fifth and final single malt in its Mr George Legacy Series. Distilled in 1954 and aged in a first-fill Sherry puncheon for seven decades, only 130 bottles are available worldwide. Read More
- Tamdhu Distillery unveiled a 21 Year Old single malt as the latest, and oldest, addition to its core collection. It has been aged in Sherry casks, predominantly European oak, crafted in the family cooperages and Bodegas of Jerez. Read More
New Whisky Arrivals: London Distillery’s Renascence Revival & Ardnamurchan’s Global Launch of The Midgie
- The London Distillery Company revealed Renascence – The Revival Release, its first whisky since relaunching earlier this year. Crafted from the remaining casks of its original 2011–2020 era, this London single malt features Plumage Archer, a historic barley widely used in early 20th century whisky making. Read More
