Whisky News: Ardbeg Marks 25 Years of its Committee, Ardnamurchan Releases Madeira Cask Batch 2, and The Heart Cut Debuts Its First Scotch with Nc’nean
- Ardbeg unveiled a new release which celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee. A combination of spirit aged in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks with roasted malt spirit matured in bourbon casks, Ardbeg Eureka! was made with input from the Committee, and is exclusively available to its members. - Ardnamurchan’s much-anticipated AD/ Madeira Cask Batch 2 was unveiled. Bourbon casks from early 2018 were filled with a roughly 60/40 ratio of unpeated to peated spirit, then were re-racked into Madeira casks just over two years ago. Read More
- The Heart Cut announced its first Scotch with Nc’nean. The Heart Cut #12 Nc’nean Distillery whisky was matured in an ex-Bourbon barrel before being finished in a Madeira cask and has notes of rum and raisin ice cream, dried raspberries and walnuts, leading to a long, fruity finish. Read More
