Family-owned, Lochlea Distillery in Ayrshire announced the launch of its second annual Red Wine Cask release, arriving on 28^th May. Building on the success of the inaugural edition last year, its evolving wine cask series showcases the farm-to-cask distillery’s innovative approach to cask management. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society unveiled a new blended malt Scotch whisky to celebrate the peak of whisky festival season in May, combining spirit from all five of Scotland’s whisky-producing regions in one release. The Five Regions Blended Malt 11 Year Old brings together whiskies from Campbeltown, Speyside, Islay, the Lowlands and the Highlands, and was matured in a selection of bourbon, oloroso, PX and HTMC (heavy toast, medium char) hogsheads.
