The world’s most famous whisky festival is coming down under. Fèis Ìle – Festival of Islay has partnered with The Whisky Show to host the official ‘Friends of Fèis Ìle 2024’ whisky festival to be held in Melbourne.
For those who are not able to visit Scotland, The Whisky Show is bringing the Fèis Ìle – Islay Whisky Festival experience to you. It will be held on 1 June 2023, at the Fitzroy Town Hall for one day only. There will be over 70+ different Scotch whiskies from Islay, all included in the ticket price to try and sample.
What is the Fèis Ìle Festival?
For those who are not familiar with the tiny Scottish island of Islay, it’s fondly nicknamed “Whisky Island” due to its concentration of nine celebrated whisky producing distilleries. Scotch Whisky made on Islay is renowned for its smoky character derived from peat, considered a central characteristic of the Islay malts. Fèis Ìle, originally started in 1986, is an annual series of events held at the distilleries and other locations on the island. It celebrates the whisky and culture of the island through music, dancing, distillery open days, and whisky tastings. Since many people are not able to make the annual pilgrimage to Scotland, The Whisky Show has partnered with Fèis Ìle to bring their beloved festival experience to Australia.

As part of the official Fèis Ìle whisky festival, a number of Islay distilleries will be bringing their Fèis Ìle bottlings to pour at the show. Subject to each brand’s availability.
